With nearly 20 years of public accounting experience, including at a national firm, Dirk joined Ahlbeck & Company in 1989. With a strong background in audit and related services, Dirk addresses the needs of clients including business professionals, construction contractors and not-for-profit organizations. He provides engagement closure by meeting with management, business owners or the board to review the financial results and address related concerns. Dirk is also qualified to perform Yellow Book audits under Government Auditing Standards for not-for-profits. His experience with valuations and other special engagements has helped to broaden the continuing development of the firm.
With primary responsibility for the firm's recruitment program, he works to cultivate potential qualified candidates on an ongoing basis. Dirk also oversees internal operations and is involved in the firm's peer review process as well as marketing and business development.
Dirk earned a B.A. in Accounting from Michigan State University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Illinois CPA Society, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. He is also active in the community and is involved with several not-for-profit organizations.
