Experience Rick has worked in the field of public accounting since 1970. Upon graduation from college, he joined Morton F. Swift & Company and became a junior partner prior to the 1978 Main LaFrantz merger. Following several mergers with international firms, he co-founded Parker & Meltzer in 1983. He was a partner there for 25 years prior to the merger with Ahlbeck & Company in July 2008. With experience in auditing, tax and management services, Rick has worked with many closely-held companies. He has provided technical expertise to resolve issues related to buying and selling businesses, consolidated financial statements, multistate income tax returns, LIFO inventory elections and computations and financial projections and forecasts. Although he specializes in serving manufacturers and distributors, Rick has also been involved with HUD projects and reviews not-for-profit audits and OMB Circular A-133 Single Audits. In addition to compliance tax preparation, Rick works with individual clients to assist with tax and estate planning and estate return filings. |
Education
and Affiliations Rick graduated from the University of Illinois-Chicago and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society. He has also been active in the community. Rick served as president and board member for several synagogues and has been involved in coaching youth soccer and baseball. |
