Experience Tom has over 25 years of public accounting experience, working for a mid-size firm before joining Ahlbeck & Company in 1983. Technical and professional expertise allow him to serve clients in diverse industries. From simple to multi-state returns, Tom focuses on taxes, using well-developed research skills to resolve many complex issues. Tom has built an extensive in-house tax library, implemented computer hardware and software improvements and is committed to the firm's professional training program. He also has key responsibility for investment management and financial reporting in his role as a school district treasurer. Tom is committed to the success of his clients as well as ongoing firm growth. A focus on developing "accounting best practices," using financial statements as decision-making tools and monitoring key performance indicators provides value to improve the clients' businesses. Responsible for marketing and business building, Tom serves as the firm's Director of Business Development. |
Education
and Affiliations Tom graduated with a B.S. in Accountancy from Northern Illinois University and is a registered investment representative. He currently serves as the Maine Township School Treasurer, a post he has held since 1990. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Illinois CPA Society and the Illinois Association of School Business Officials. Active in the community, Tom is also involved in several local not-for-profit organizations. He served as treasurer of the Park Ridge Fine Arts Society and was appointed by the mayor of Park Ridge to the Board of Trustees of the Police Pension Board. |
